Charles Husser
Born in 1988, lives and works in Toulouse, France.
The son of a painter father and a visual artist mother, Charles Husser was bathed in painting from an early age. As a teenager, the young and rebellious Husser seeks to impose himself by means of the graffiti technique. In 2005, he created a collective of artists and graffiti artists who, for two years, will leave traces in the form of frescoes, both in private homes and in public places between Nantes and Saint Nazaire.
In 2007, Charles Husser was admitted to the Ecole Supérieure de Beaux-Arts de Montpellier, from where he was expelled from France after his arrival. The artist then devoted himself to painting. He took to the streets of Montpellier between 2009 and 2010, hanging his paintings made for passers-by to appropriate them.
From 2010 to 2011, the artist resided in Santiago/Chile, where he carried out various artistic projects. Back in France in 2011, Charles Husser began to paint compulsively. Considering that the support must also give him pleasure, by the feeling of a strong emotion even before receiving the painting, he sets out in search of the ideal support that will allow him to free himself from the canvas.
In 2013, Charles Husser felt attracted by the use of wood as a medium. He fashioned it with his new tool, a chainsaw. This is the beginning of his woodcarving work. In 2014, his works were exhibited in galleries in Montauban and Toulouse, then in Copenhagen and Geneva, among others.
