Illuminations, a feminine view of the environment
Opening: Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 18 in the presence of the artists
Performance by Angela Marzullo at 7pm
Exhibition: until 28 February 2020
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 11 to 18h and by appointment
Our proposal for the Illuminations exhibition is to present a feminine and current view of the environment, our world: nature, beauty, movement, the use of natural resources, climate change, the evolution of the earth and its inhabitants.
The choice of artists Niura Bellavinha (BR), Victoire Cathalan (FR), Vivanne van Singer (CH) and the duo Ana Lombard (MEX)) & Noora Kulvik (FI) represents an approach to diversity, being both conceptual, poetic, and existential.
Each artist will interact through colour, shape, movement or fluidity, these artists of different origins, Victoire Cathalan (France), the duo Ana Lombard (Mexico) & Noora Kulvik (Finland), Vivianne van Singer (Switzerland) describe in a poetic or conceptual way their testimony to a changing world.
Each of their practices is unique in the history of art:
Niura Bellavinha is a post-medium artist. She paints, photographs, films, and creates performances. Fluidity is a key to his creative processes.
Victoire Cathalan thinks of the surface as an interface. She wants to feel impalpable through her epidermal research.
The duo Ana D. & Noora K. explores the movement captured by photography to articulate their cyclical vision of life. As everything is moving all the time, artists freeze a moment in order to densify, through abstraction, our vision of the world.
Vivianne van Singer works with colour in a formal and poetic way. She explores it through prisms such as chemical, aesthetic, material and immaterial.
