Opening: Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 6 pm
Exhibition: from September 16 to October 22, 2022
Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday from 11 am to 6 pm and by appointment
The exhibition Brasilitude celebrates the bicentennial of Brazil's Independence in 1822, with reference to the Modern Art Week of 1922; a landmark in Brazilian art history.
In Brasilitude, the works of five contemporary Brazilian artists will be presented, offering the public an immersion in Brazil through contemporary art.
The ceramics of Fernando de la Rocque and Heberth Sobral refer to the Brazilian baroque with a layer of humor. Often in the form of mandals they take the public into a trance.
The chromatic and rhythmic canvases of Niura Bellavinha and Geraldo Marcolini, start from concrete movement and abstraction, transforming into vegetation and landscapes and bringing the observer to interact with the exuberance of the tropics.
The sounds composed by Ricardo Cotrim allow to hear and travel in Brazil under different aspects.
We invite you to dive into the chromatic and sonic universe of Brasilitude.
