Jeux de Couleurs
Marcelo Jácome and Vivianne van Singer
Opening September 17 from 6 pm.
Exhibition from Sept. 18 until Nov. 10, 2013
In order to keep its main goal to engage Brazilian and European contemporary art, espace_L now invites the artists Marcelo Jacome and Vivianne van Singer.
Taking into consideration that color is a basic principle in the work of these two artists, this exhibition reveals the subtleties in the observation and handling fields of this item to both of them.
While the Brazilian artist is inspired by kites that punctuate the space with color, the Swiss-Italian artist plays with the metamorphoses of this element, from its raw material to its application. Both of them evoke the fascination, the impact and the symbols brought about by color, where the game dimension is also present.
Sensation, contemplation, emotion, these are only a few vibrations triggered by colored materials. Through constructions and combinations, these artists use different media - paper, rubber bands, plastic bags – to show that any material can change according to the color applied over it, obtaining a particular direction and unique intensity.
