Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1990.
Thai Mainhard, Brazilian artist living in Los Angeles, offers us an authentic look at the tumult of human emotions through her work. Art is much more than mere expression: it's a way of dealing with intense emotions and extreme human experiences, as said by the artist. Each brushstroke is a raw, intuitive act, a bridge between brain and heart, a way of connecting with our spiritual essence. Her dense colors combined with loose mark making are expressive of that pull she feels to the untouchable and what can be seen, the play between spiritual and real, components that actually make up our lives that are more tangible than we realize. She aims to capture in her paintings a fragment of what life could look like in an ideal world without any intensional representation of physical objects. In her opinion, that is what makes abstract art so powerful.
Exhibitions at Espace_L gallery : Peindre, Manger, Dormir
